Yum! Brands Inc. will team up with Sinopec and open more KFC and Pizza Hut outlets at Sinopec gas stations all over China. The Shanghai Daily reported that Zhu Zongyi, president of Yum! Brands said that the company, which owns KFC and Pizza Hut, will be able to expand business into counties and well-off townships through Sinopec’s close to 30,000 petrol stations. Yum! Brands and Sinopec signed a framework cooperation agreement in late November which will allow Yum! Brands to open 50 KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants, as well as the Chinese-style fast food chain, East Dawning, in Sinopec gas stations within the next five years. Yum! Brands Inc. had already opened seven such restaurants in Shanghai and Guangdong. (November 24, 2011)
