Lubrizol expands dispersant production capacity in North America
As part of its strategic growth plan, Lubrizol Corporation is doubling the production capacity of Solsperse™ Hyperdispersants at its Avon Lake, Ohio, U.S.A., facility. The expansion will bolster the company’s ability to meet the growing demand for high-performance dispersants used in coatings and ink formulations, and support further production increases projected for 2025.
The facility, which first started producing Solsperse Hyperdispersants in 2014, will now be able to handle larger volumes of raw materials, thanks to this new investment. The dispersants are known for their ability to enhance pigment dispersion in a wide range of applications, from coatings to industrial products.
“With this expanded capacity, Lubrizol is well-positioned to serve the North American coatings industry, providing sustainable solutions that reduce energy use and waste,” said Sharon Kirk, director of Performance Coatings at Lubrizol. “This investment also reinforces our commitment to sustainability, helping our customers meet environmental goals by reducing the carbon footprint associated with production and transportation.”
Lubrizol’s expansion comes on the heels of another major development at its coatings production facility in North Carolina, where the company announced additional capacity increases earlier this year.
“Many segments of the coatings industry continue to rapidly grow,” said Marco Fay, vice president, Performance Coatings, Lubrizol. “Our investments solidify our commitment to our customers that we are partners in progress who they can count on to bring new coating innovations to life. From 100% active, to water-based, bio-content containing dispersants, to high-performing additives for industrial and protective coatings, Lubrizol helps our customers achieve their sustainability initiatives and growth targets.”
