Neste unveils NEXBASE 4+ base oil from renewable feedstocks

Finland’s Neste introduced NEXBASE™ 4+, a high-performance Group III+ base stock and a drop-in replacement for fossil-based Group III+ base oils and polyalphaolefins (PAOs) in low-viscosity, low-volatility engine oil formulations.

NEXBASE™ 4+ enables lubricant manufacturers to formulate the most demanding lubricants that can contribute to improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, better machine durability and wear prevention while also reducing their carbon footprint, the company said.

According to Neste, more than 60% of the molecules in NEXBASE 4+ base oils are derived from renewable raw materials.

“I am very pleased to release an all-new NEXBASE podcast episode! In this podcast, we introduce Neste’s new NEXBASE 4+ Group III+ base stock with a low lifecycle carbon footprint compared to fossil base oil products,” said Chris Castanien, technical services manager, Americas, Neste Base Oils.
