New Engen lubricants offer advanced engine protection
Engen has unveiled a revitalised version of its Xtreme lubricants range, introducing advanced formulations and modern packaging tailored for South Africa’s demanding road conditions.
“As vehicle engine design advances and fuel efficiency becomes a priority, the new Xtreme range has evolved to meet these demands,” says Mario Vester, Engen product manager – Automotive.
Manufactured in KwaZulu-Natal, which is located on the eastern coast of South Africa, the new Engen Xtreme range offers cutting-edge engine protection, with enhanced additive technology designed to reduce wear, improve efficiency, and prolong engine life. Available in Standard S8, Premium S10, and Prestige S15 grades, the lubricants are formulated for high-mileage vehicles and the diverse powertrains found across European, Asian, and African markets.
“Our aim was to take a strong product and make it exceptional,” said Unathi Fani, Engen’s manager, Technical Advisory. “With the latest technology, Engen Xtreme delivers premium performance that meets the expectations of everyday drivers and automotive professionals alike.”
Given the high average age of vehicles in South Africa—approximately 11 years—the updated formulation addresses the needs of internal combustion engines, ensuring consistent efficiency and optimal protection under extreme temperatures and heavy traffic.
The rebrand includes new packaging featuring anti-counterfeiting mechanisms, improved usability, and clearer labelling. Environmentally conscious updates include the use of Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) materials, aligning with Engen’s sustainability goals.
Engen Xtreme lubricants are now available at authorised Engen service stations and retailers nationwide.
