Oleon rebrands Brazilian operations to strengthen regional reach
Oleon has officially rebranded its Brazilian subsidiary A.Azevedo Óleos as Oleon Brasil S.A., marking a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy across South America. The name change, which took effect on 5 May 2025, follows Oleon’s acquisition of the São Paulo-based company in October 2024.
A formal inauguration ceremony was held at Oleon’s production site in Itupeva, São Paulo, and was attended by company officials, partners, and employees. General Manager Andrés Morales and Plant Manager Stéphane Bernard, who previously served as country manager for Oleon Malaysia, addressed the gathering. Bernard emphasised that the rebranding was more than symbolic, representing a unified global vision and deepening collaboration across Oleon’s international footprint.
Later that day, a smaller ceremony took place at the firm’s Brazilian headquarters in Mooca, São Paulo, to mark the occasion internally. With this integration, Oleon aims to expand its local production capacity and better serve key markets throughout Latin America by combining regional expertise with global best practices.
A division of Avril Group, Oleon is a leading producer of oleochemicals derived from renewable raw materials. The company’s product portfolio includes esters, emulsifiers, and specialty oleochemicals widely used in lubricants, metalworking fluids, greases, and biodegradable base stocks. Its growing presence in South America reinforces Oleon’s commitment to sustainable, plant-based chemistry and supports the lubricants industry’s transition to environmentally friendly formulations.
This rebranding and regional investment are part of Oleon’s broader global growth strategy, which includes capacity expansions in Europe and Asia aimed at supporting increasing demand for bio-based lubricants and additives across industrial and automotive applications.
