Oleon signs strategic partnership with AI Green Bytes

Oleon, a global leader in sustainable oleochemicals, has entered into a strategic partnership with AI Green Bytes to launch the latter’s first immersion-cooled data centre in Paris, France, using Oleon’s plant-based Qloe™ cooling liquid.

This pioneering collaboration brings together Oleon’s expertise in biodegradable, non-toxic cooling solutions and AI Green Bytes’ vision for energy-efficient GPU data centres. The new Paris facility will submerge servers in Oleon’s Qloe™ immersion cooling fluid—enabling up to a 90% reduction in cooling power usage while eliminating CO₂ emissions and water waste.

“We are excited to partner with AI Green Bytes to bring our Qloe™ immersion cooling technology to Paris,” said Maarten Trautmann, Oleon’s Immersion Cooling Programme lead. He added that the project underlines the scalability and environmental benefits of the company’s plant-based solutions in supporting AI infrastructure.

Each immersion tank in the Paris data centre will support up to 361 kW of thermal load, a significant leap from the 30–40 kW typical of conventional air-cooled systems. This high-density design optimises energy and spatial efficiency—catering to the intensive computing demands of AI and machine learning workloads.

AI Green Bytes offers GPU as a Service, providing access to cutting-edge NVIDIA and AMD GPUs for clients without the need to manage physical infrastructure. “This deployment positions us at the forefront of the AI revolution,” said Stig Torvund, chairman and CEO of AI Green Bytes, noting the collaboration will deliver “unmatched energy efficiency and computational power” while reducing environmental impact.

Set to begin operations in June 2025, the Paris facility not only strengthens France’s position as a digital innovation hub but also sets a new benchmark for sustainable data centre deployment worldwide.
