OQ Chemicals unveils sustainable lubricant with reduced carbon footprint

In a significant move towards sustainability, global chemical company OQ Chemicals has introduced OxReduce L7-NPG, a biobalanced, low viscosity synthetic lubricant ester designed to reduce carbon emissions. Produced under the ISCC PLUS certification, OxReduce L7-NPG is a bio-circular alternative to the conventional fossil-based Oxlube L7-NPG, sourced from renewable, palm oil-free feedstocks and containing up to 84% renewable carbon.

With its low viscosity and high flash point, OxReduce L7-NPG offers an environmentally friendly solution for automotive lubricants, metalworking, and energy-efficient cooling systems. Its non-toxic formulation meets regulatory standards, including compliance with the Vessel General Permit (VGP) for marine environments, thereby supporting OEMs in achieving CO2 reduction targets.

Our certified biobalanced products like OxReduce L7-NPG allow customers to enhance their sustainability credentials and meet regulatory demands without compromising performance, said Dr. Claudia Fischer, director of Global Business Development at OQ Chemicals.

OxReduce L7-NPG complements OQ Chemicals’ existing OxLube L7-NPG product line, already recognised under the Lubricant Substance Classification (LuSC) list, and is expected to pave the way for EU Ecolabel certification as an environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL).
