Pertamina Lubricants expands to Europe with Maxprom partnership
PT Pertamina Lubricants has taken a significant step in its global strategy by expanding production to Europe through a strategic collaboration with Italy-based petrochemical holding company Maxprom S.r.L. The partnership will see the blending and distribution of Pertamina’s lubricants in Europe, with its flagship product, Fastron Platinum Racing 10W-60, becoming the first to be manufactured outside Indonesia.
This high-performance oil, designed specifically for supercars, has garnered global recognition, including its use by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the motorsport division of Lamborghini. The partnership with Maxprom began in 2015, with Pertamina providing technical expertise to develop a lubricant capable of maintaining optimal performance under extreme conditions, particularly in the intense summer heat of Asia. Since 2015, this collaboration has led to the development and supply of high-quality fuels and lubricants for the racing industry.
A key achievement of this partnership is the creation of the Pertamax Turbo brand, a 98 RON racing fuel developed in collaboration with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. Maxprom serves as the exclusive supplier of racing fuels for all Lamborghini championships throughout Europe. In 2019, Maxprom was appointed by Automobili Lamborghini as the sole supplier of both racing and production line fuels, working closely with Lamborghini’s R&D department and Squadra Corse.
Dwi Puja Ariestya, director of Sales & Marketing at PT Pertamina Lubricants, stated, “We hope this partnership will open broader distribution opportunities in the European market and cater to consumer needs in the region. One of our key partners, Lamborghini Squadra Corse, uses Fastron Platinum Racing 10W-60 across its motorsport events, including the Super Trofeo World Final held on 16 November 2024 in Jerez, Spain. This highlights international recognition for the quality of Indonesian-made lubricants.”
The Fastron Platinum Racing 10W-60 oil has been widely used in premier motorsport events, including GT3, the World Endurance Championship, and The International Motor Sports Association Championships in the hypercar Le Mans Daytona Hybrid category.
With its production now in Italy, Pertamina Lubricants aims to strengthen its market penetration in Europe, enhance brand awareness, and build customer loyalty globally. This expansion aligns with the company’s vision of establishing itself as a global player while showcasing Indonesia’s innovation on the international stage.
