Aviation Fuel Users Group gains members

U.S.-based Alaska Airlines has joined Boeing Co.’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group, along with British Airways, Cathay Pacific, etc. Existing members include Air France, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Cargolux, Gulf Air, Japan Airlines, KLM, SAS and Virgin Atlantic Airways. The Fuel Users Group was formed in 2008 and is “focused on making renewable fuel sources available that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while lessening commercial aviation’s dependence on fossil fuels and potentially reduce aviation sector exposure to fuel price volatility.” (July 13, 2009)
