Petron Malaysia introduces higher octane Euro 4M petrol

Petron Malaysia Refining and Marketing Bhd has introduced Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4M petrol which is compliant with Malaysia’s Euro 4M standard and has a Research Octane Number (RON) rating of 100. Malaysia’s Euro 4M specification, which took effect on Sept. 1, 2015, requires petrol to have a maximum sulphur level of 50 parts per million (ppm).

Petron says the higher octane fuel is formulated with Tri-Activ additives, a triple action formula that claims to provide better power, engine protection and mileage.

“The launch of Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4M is part of our promise to Malaysian motorists to introduce innovative fuels and services,” said Faridah Ali, Petron Malaysia’s head of retail. She said Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4M was produced at the company’s Port Dickson refinery.

The premium petrol, which currently retails for MYR 2.80 (USD 0.63) per litre, is slightly pricier than the other unregulated fuel from Shell, Shell V-Power 97 Euro 4M, which retails for MYR 2.65 (USD 0.60) per litre. Regular RON 97 currently retails for MYR 2.25 (USD 0.51) per litre.

Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4M is now available at eight Petron service stations in the Klang Valley and Johor. The introduction of Blaze 100 Euro 4M will be expanded to 30 to 40 additional service stations in a few months.
