PETRONAS and Quaker Houghton partner on metalworking fluids

PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI), the global lubricants division of Malaysia’s national oil company PETRONAS, has entered a strategic partnership with Quaker Houghton, the leading global supplier of industrial process fluids. The collaboration will expand both companies’ reach in delivering advanced metalworking solutions to industrial sectors, starting with Malaysia and India.

Under the agreement, PLI will become the exclusive distributor of Quaker Houghton’s portfolio of premium metalworking fluids to customers in Malaysia’s transportation and industrial markets beginning in Q2 2025. Meanwhile, Quaker Houghton will supply PLI’s high-performance maintenance lubricants and industrial fluids to steel mill clients in India.

Domenico Ciaglia, group chief strategy and transformation officer at PLI, emphasised the value of this alliance in bolstering service quality and product availability. He noted that both companies share a forward-looking vision and are well-positioned to explore new market opportunities while advancing sustainable service standards.

Quaker Houghton’s Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer, Jeewat Bijlani, highlighted Asia as a priority growth region. He underscored PETRONAS’ robust local presence, credibility, and established distribution channels as instrumental in extending the reach of Quaker Houghton’s solutions in Malaysia.

This partnership represents a shared commitment to raising performance benchmarks in industrial applications, supporting the evolving demands of modern manufacturing through innovation and collaboration.
