Petronas Lubricants Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (PLMM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petronas Dagangan Bhd, hopes that the recent launch of Petronas Urania with ViscGuard™ in Malaysia will catapult the company to become the local market leader by 2018.

PETRONAS Urania with ViscGuard™, the Malaysian company’s flagship commercial vehicle lubricant (CVL), was launched in the U.K. in May and became available worldwide in phases.

In a statement, PLMM said the new range of diesel engine lubricant “capitalises on the upward trend in the global lubricants market.”

“Locally, Petronas aims to be the market leader by 2018,” PLMM said.

According to PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer Giuseppe D’Arrigo, “PETRONAS Urania with ViscGuard™ is the result of PLI’s global research, conducted to understand our customers’ and the end consumers’ business and transportation needs. PETRONAS Urania with ViscGuard™ not only guards the heart of a vehicle against engine deposits buildup, but also has a direct impact on the total cost of ownership for our customers.”

PLI is the global lubricants arm of PETRONAS, Malaysia’s state-owned oil and gas company, and parent of Petronas Dagangan Bhd.
