Puma Lubricants appoints Charles Du Bois as global lubricants technology manager

Puma Lubricants, which is part of Puma Energy, the globally integrated midstream and downstream energy company, has appointed Charles Du Bois as global lubricants technology manager. Du Bois will be responsible for the development of the entire line of Puma Energy Lubricant products.

Puma Lubricants is aggressively expanding, currently operating in 49 countries and five continents. Starting immediately, Du Bois will manage regional technical and service teams to build on its world-class offer for the Puma Lubricant portfolio. He will be working closely with customers across a variety of industries to solve their unique operational challenges and help to improve their machines’ performance by using the right lubricant. For the consumer market, he will help to develop lubricants that reduce wear and enable optimum engine performance for a range of automotive equipment, from high-performance sports cars to everyday scooters and off-road vehicles.

A key part of his role will be to focus on continuing to build Puma Lubricants’ wide range of OEM approvals, ensuring the highest quality lubricants for some of the world’s leading automotive, motorcycle and marine manufacturers, including, MAN, Warstilla, VW, BMW and Porsche.

“I’m excited to be joining a well-established and qualified team that dedicates itself to developing premium and quality lubricants across many industries. But what excites me most is how we deliver value to our customers beyond our core product. For example, our first conversation with our customers is no longer about lubricants; it’s about the biggest challenges they are facing within their business. A machine out of action for two days can lead to millions in lost revenue. By identifying their biggest pain points and applying the right approach to lubrication, as well as the right lubricant, we can help our customers reduce operational costs while ensuring that their machines are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” says Du Bois.

Du Bois is a qualified mechanical engineer specialising in energy technology, with more than 30 years of high-performance lubricants and global business development experience. He has worked for Tribol, Castrol and Chemserve.

“We are very pleased to welcome Charles Du Bois to the Puma Lubricants team. We value his knowledge working on high-tech lubricants solutions for large B2B and B2C customers in sectors including automotive, mining, agriculture, sugar mills, cement and steel. Charles’s attitude to solving customers’ wider operational challenges and his extensive experience across different industries will be an invaluable addition to our business,” says Govert Spit, global head of Lubricants, Puma Energy.
