SAE Fuels and Lubricants Council appoints Jofran Pastor as vice chair

Jofran Pastor has been appointed vice chairperson of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Fuels and Lubricants Council, Don Smolenski, chairman of the council announced recently. Smolenski is OEM liaison manager – North America of Evonik Oil Additives USA, Inc.

Pastor currently holds the position of PCMO North American Industry Liaison Advisor for Infineum USA LP. She began her 30-year career in the chemical and automotive industry with Exxon Chemical Company, eventually joining the additives division, Paramins, in 1986.

After leaving Exxon Chemical, she then built and ran a Tier One plant for BASF, winning a Honda Quality Supplier Award. She then joined Ford and contributed in quality, safety, lean manufacturing, evaporative emissions and environmental systems.

Pastor joined Infineum in 2010 and manages the relationships and technical requirements for passenger car motor oils (PCMO) in North America.

The SAE Fuels and Lubricants Council is responsible for setting policy; providing final approval of SAE documents; arbitrating controversial issues; reporting to the Technical Board (via the Technology/Development Group); approving technical committee membership; and appointing technical committee, coordinating committee and other chairpersons as required.

Participants in the SAE Fuels and Lubricants Council include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government and other interested parties.

  • Fuel and Lubricants TC2 Industrial Lubricants 
  • Fuels and Lubricants TC 3 Driveline and Chassis Lubrication 
  • Fuels and Lubricants TC 7 Fuels Committee
