
Shell and BMW partnership extended for motorsport innovation
Shell and BMW M Motorsport have announced the renewal of their longstanding partnership, reinforcing their collaboration in energy innovation and motorsport technology. The extended agreement will see Shell continue to support BMW M Motorsport’s factory racing programmes, including the World Endurance Championship and the International Motor Sports Association.
The partnership extends across major race series, with Shell Brands International AG remaining the official energy partner of BMW M Motorsport. Additionally, the two companies will continue to work together in GT3 racing, featuring prestigious events such as the Deutsche Touringwagen Meisterschaft (German Touring Car Championship) and the renowned Macau Grand Prix.
BMW M Motorsport will exclusively recommend Shell’s premium global products, including Shell V-Power, Shell Helix, and Shell EV Plus, further cementing their shared commitment to innovation in the energy sector.
BMW M Trackdays and R&D cooperation
As part of the renewed agreement, Shell will continue as the official partner of BMW M Trackdays, the annual festival held at the Nürburgring. This event provides BMW M enthusiasts the chance to experience Shell’s high-performance fuels in their own vehicles and test drive the latest BMW M models on track.
In addition to motorsport, Shell and BMW M Motorsport plan to expand their collaboration in research and development. Areas of focus include:
- Sustainable lubricants
- Bespoke E-Fluids for electric vehicles
- Advanced fuel and energy solutions for motorsport applications
Driving future innovation
