Shell Pakistan to revamp Select-branded convenience stores

Shell Pakistan Limited is focusing on its “non-oil” business to gain traction in a regulated environment.

Jawwad Cheema, chief executive officer at Shell Pakistan Limited, said the company has allocated funds to revamp around 20 of its Select-branded convenience stores, which are co-located with the company’s fuel retail outlets.

“We are moving towards delivering enhanced customer experience by ensuring an eco-system that includes fuels, lubricants, food and coffee on the go as well as other conveniences like on-site ATMs and pharmacies,” he said.

“Our aim is to redefine the reason people visit Shell stations,” Cheema said. “We try to better understand customer’s needs at different touch-points along the journey,” he added.

“The market is moving towards deregulation, but it would take some time. And when it happens, Shell will be the best in the business,” Cheema said.

Shell Pakistan currently operates 780 fuel retail outlets, with 15 more in the works.
