SI Group announced the launch of a new fuel antioxidant blend, ETHANOX® 4737R, offering low-temperature fluidity, facilitating batch and injection blending, and usage under versatile weather conditions.

This product carries multiple military and ASTM approvals for gasoline and aviation fuel stabilization.

“ETHANOX® 4737R is an effective solution that meets multiple fuel additives industry requirements,” says Chris Roberts, vice president, Fuels & Lubricants. “This product, in addition to SI Group’s entire line of ETHANOX® solutions, maximizes fuel storage life and protects fuel systems. These benefits help refiners meet rigorous fuel regulations, standards, and specifications.”

Since ETHANOX® 4737R is TTBP-free and its high flash solvent contains less than 1% of naphthalene, it is a safer choice for workers and the environment. Tri-tert-butylphenol or TTBP, which is used as stabilizers, free-radical scavengers and antioxidants in technical applications, such as in fuels, hydraulic fluids and lubricating oils, as well as in elastomeric and thermoplastic polymers, has a high tendency for bioaccumulation and aquatic toxicity.

SI Group is a leading global developer and manufacturer of performance additives, process solutions, pharmaceuticals and chemical intermediates, with a strong position in the plastics, oilfield, rubber, fuels & lubricants, active pharmaceutical ingredients and industrial resins industries. Headquartered in Schenectady, New York, U.S.A., SI Group operates more than 30 manufacturing facilities in five continents with approximately USD2 billion in annual sales, and more than 3,000 employees worldwide. SI Group is a portfolio company of SK Capital Partners.
