Sinopec Corp. to start producing China VI-compliant fuels starting January 2019

Chinese state-owned oil company Sinopec Corp. will start producing gasoline and diesel fuel that comply with China VI fuel standards from its 28 refineries starting January 2019.

China VI-compliant gasoline and diesel fuels have a maximum sulphur limit of 10 parts per million (ppm).

China VI emission standards for new heavy-duty vehicles is expected to be equivalent to or in some aspects more stringent than Euro VI.

Sinopec has invested more than CNY 300 billion (USD43.1 billion) to upgrade its refineries to produce higher quality fuel over the past 18 years, the company said.
