UK independent lube maker Vickers Oils opens subsidiary in Australia

Vickers Oils announced the establishment of Vickers Oils (Australasia) Pty Ltd., Queensland, Australia, a new, wholly-owned subsidiary of UK independent lubricant manufacturer Benjn R. Vickers & Sons Ltd.

This is the first overseas subsidiary for Vickers Oils and has been established to distribute speciality lubricants, technology leadership and excellent customer service with the same fundamental values to market sectors in Australasia. Whilst growing its overall presence in the market, it provides an exciting opportunity to establish its range of award-winning EALs in Australasia.ย

Last year, Vickers Oils opened a state-of-the-art R&D laboratory to support its strategic expansion plans, marking the completion of a four-year project to modernise and expand the companyโ€™s facilities.

Recently, Chris Wholley was appointed managing director of Benjn. R. Vickers & Sons Ltd,ย  succeeding Peter Vickers, who remains as chairman. This handover of the role of managing director is part of a management succession plan drawn up several years ago to support Vickers Oilsโ€™ continued development in the future.

Vickers Oils started trading in Leeds, UK,ย  in 1828. From its beginnings in supplying oil for the woollen textile industry, the company added marine lubricants in 1880 and built up an export business that now accounts for almost all its output. It remains a private, independent company now led by the fifth and sixth generation of the Vickersโ€™ family. Aus
