Syensqo and Sinopec partner to drive sustainable materials innovation
Syensqo and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) have signed a Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement to strengthen collaboration in advanced materials and specialty chemicals. The alliance seeks to drive innovation and accelerate the development of sustainable high-value material solutions across a range of industries.
The partnership will focus on advancing composites, specialty polymers, and materials tailored for the commercial aerospace, transportation, and energy sectors. In addition to joint research and development, the collaboration will explore supply chain optimisation and sustainability initiatives, including the adoption of circular chemicals and strategies to reduce carbon emissions. The two companies will also pursue business development opportunities in emerging markets such as South America and Asia.
Ilham Kadri, chief executive officer of Syensqo, said that the partnership with Sinopec aligns with Syensqo’s mission to pursue scientific breakthroughs that advance humanity. Kadri highlighted the collaboration as a step towards exploring innovative solutions that address industry needs while lowering environmental impact.
