
Tiarco names Bala as global VP of Technology, R&D and Quality
Tiarco, LLC, based in Dalton, Georgia, U.S.A., announced the promotion of Vasu Bala, Ph.D. to global vice-president of Technology, R&D and Quality. In this expanded role, Bala will also serve as a key steward of Tiarco’s intellectual property and regulatory adherence.
Tiarco is a specialty chemical manufacturer for latex, grease & lubricant, water treatment, and oil & gas applications, and a subsidiary of Textile Rubber & Chemical Co., Inc. (TRCC), a global chemical and technology company with manufacturing facilities throughout the world.
“We will continue to rely heavily on Vasu to attract and mentor members of Tiarco’s technical staff, while developing our current team to exceed the requirements of our customers,” said Kevin Nolan, vice president and general manager of Tiarco, LLC.
In his previous role as Tiarco’s global technical director, Bala led research and development, technical service, and quality control functions for nearly five years. Under his leadership, Tiarco has introduced several new products that have contributed to the company’s overall success. His contributions have been extremely beneficial across all of Tiarco’s global market segments, operations and within TRCC’s divisions, affiliates and subsidiaries.
Prior to joining Tiarco, LLC, Bala held leadership positions at Afton Chemical, Cognis-Henkel and BASF Corporation. He completed his Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral studies in Chemical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, and has authored and collaborated on dozens of publications and patents.
