Total has appointed Marco Pannunzio as the new managing director of Total Romania SA, effective December 1, 2016, succeeding Franck Haettel, who will take over the global position of security coordinator for the Marketing & Service branch of Total’s Paris headquarter.

Pannunzio joined the Total Group in 1985 and has been in the group for more than 31 years, where he held various key positions in Italy and elsewhere in Europe including:

• Currently general manager of the Central Europe Hub, managing the marketing activities and the affiliates of Total in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, based in Prague
• Specialties director of TotalErg SPA, based in Milan, Italy
• President and CEO of Totalgaz SPA and Bitimec SRL
• Vice president of ASSOGASLIQUIDIGPL, commercial sales director of Total Italy SPA, based in Milan, Italy
• Retail manager, Total U.K. Ltd., based in London

“As a managing director of Total Romania, I’ll focus, in the beginning, on taking the progress reached by my predecessors even further. It will be a challenge, because Total Romania has performed well in the last years, the company had a solid ground in Romania, reaching a leading position in lubricant sales in Romania and well developing the activity of bitumen, thanks to the support of my team, I am sure we can reach our new targets of development. Romania’s positive economic performance and the ambition of the Total Group to develop our position in the country make me confident in driving our company to further increase our market shares and positions. Our aim is to be recognised in Romania as a reference and reliable partner in the industry and by our customers,” Pannunzio said.

Total has been present in Romania with its lubricants business since 2005, through a joint venture with Romania’s Lustic. The company, Total Romania, operates a blending plant in Cristian, Brasov county and a bitumen depot in Ozun, Covasna county, both in central Romania.

Total Romania’s activities cover the entire oil and gas chain, from crude oil and natural gas exploration and production to power generation, transportation, refining, petroleum product marketing, and international crude oil and product trading.

Total Romania is part of Total Marketing & Services, the commercial division of Total Group, the fifth largest oil company in the world, with headquarters in Bucharest and filling plant in Brasov.
