Wolf Oil launches ultra-low viscosity oil for new Volkswagen engines

Wolf, a trademark of Wolf Oil Corporation, one of Europe’s leading independent lubricants companies based in Hemiksem, Belgium, announced the latest addition to its passenger car motor oil portfolio.

Wolf OFFICIALTECH 0W20 LL FE motor oil is a fully synthetic lubricant, developed to prolong engine life and maintain the efficiency of its emission system.

The OFFICIALTECH 0W20 LL FE motor oil was designed for the new 2.0 TFSI 140 kW and 3.0 TDI CR 160 kW Volkswagen engines. Engines with the VW 508 00 / 509 00 specification are built to use the latest technology oils. Wolf is among the first to launch an engine oil that meets this specification, the company says.

This new oil enables franchised workshops and dealerships to provide customers with an ultra-low viscosity oil designed specifically for these VAG Group engines.

The company says this ultra low viscosity engine oil significantly reduces wear, ensures lower CO2 emissions and delivers substantial fuel saving — a 4% fuel economy improvement of up to 0.12L/100km in comparison to a standard SAE 5W-30.

OFFICIALTECH 0W20 LL FE can only be used with engines with VW 508 00 / 509 00 specification and is not backward compatible with older vehicle engines.

According to Wolf Oil, OFFICIALTECH 0W20 LL FE can deliver oil drain intervals of up to 30,000 kilometers or two years, providing outstanding engine cleanliness, excellent wear protection over the full oil drain interval and engine durability to keep Volkswagen and Audi engines from 2015 onwards running like new.

“Today’s engines are becoming increasingly powerful and sophisticated, putting a strain on lubricants’ longevity and lifespan,” says Inès El Majid, technical and product manager at Wolf Oil Corporation. “The newest VW and Audi engines with the 508 00 / 509 00 specification require a new, high technology oil.”

Wolf OFFICIALTECH 0W20 LL FE will be available by the end of July.
