South Australia approves US$101.2 million diesel fuel facility

The south Australian government has approved development of a A$110 million (US$101.68 million) diesel storage and refinery facility on Eyre peninsula, but with more than 20 conditions. Mineral Resources Minister Paul Holloway said the 23 conditions imposed would ensure there was no environmental harm and appropriate management plans were in place to govern the project’s construction and operation. The diesel fuel facility will be able to deliver one billion liters of diesel each year, reducing the volume of heavy traffic on the roads from Adelaide. (January 13, 2010)
