Yulia Austin joins Ergon as chief human resources officer

Yulia Austin has joined Ergon, which is engaged in refining and marketing, specialty chemicals, asphalt and emulsions, midstream and logistics, oil and gas, construction and real estate, as executive vice president and chief human resources officer (CHRO) as of December 19, 2022. She will be based at Ergon’s headquarters in Flowood, Mississippi, U.S.A.

The creation of the new CHRO role extends from Ergon’s commitment to “Doing Right by Our People” by investing in present and future generations, working to improve Ergon’s family business culture as it continues to grow its business.

Austin has more than 20 years of experience leading human resource efforts for major industry organizations. Most recently, she served as chief human resources officer at Acuren, a market leader in structural integrity testing and solutions with more than 90 locations and 6,000 employees throughout North America and the United Kingdom. 

She has also held senior roles with Ingersoll Rand, Cameron and Baker Hughes companies. Austin has a master’s degree in human resources development from Oklahoma State University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and media from Azerbaijan State University.

She will be responsible for further evolving Ergon’s human resources strategy and operations, including talent management, recruitment, leadership development, compensation, benefits and payroll.
