Zeller+Gmelin’s Divinol Gear Oil earns Volvo approval
Zeller+Gmelin has announced that its Divinol Gear Oil ST 80W90 has received approval from Volvo under the Volvo standard 1273.21 (also known as Volvo 97321). This high-performance gear oil is noted for its superior aging stability and suitability for extended oil change intervals, thanks to a modern blend of base oils and high-quality additives.
Andreas Krapf, automotive product manager at Zeller+Gmelin, highlighted the versatility and efficiency of the new gear oil. “With our new Divinol ST 80W90 gear oil, we are presenting users with a versatile, high-performance hypoid gear oil that was specially developed for use in drive axles and GL5 manual transmissions,” said Krapf. “It is ideal for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, including construction, forestry, agricultural machinery, and trucks, as well as light commercial vehicles and cars, depending on the requirements.”
The Divinol Gear Oil ST 80W90 also meets the Scania STO 1:0 standard, further underscoring its quality and compatibility. “The approval according to the strict Volvo standards underlines the quality and compatibility of our gear oil,” Krapf added. “We are once again meeting the growing requirements of manufacturers, providing reliable performance and long-term operational safety across various vehicle types.”
Zeller+Gmelin’s new gear oil offers several key benefits, including excellent wear protection, high oxidation and temperature resistance, and good compatibility with common sealing materials. Its stable viscosity at high temperatures and excellent flowability at low temperatures contribute to its extended oil change intervals and lower CO² footprint over the oil’s lifecycle, compared to standard gear oils.
