IMCD appoints Andreas Igerl as president for Asia

IMCD Group, a leading distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, announced the appointment of Andreas Igerl as president of IMCD in Asia, effective July 1, 2022.

“We are pleased to have Andreas lead the Asia region that exhibits great growth potential,” said Piet van der Slikke, CEO of IMCD Group. “With Andreas’ vast experience and achievement in China, we are confident that he will drive further development and expansion of the business in the region.” 

As president of IMCD’s Asia region, Igerl  is responsible for all operating companies within the region, focusing on sustainable growth by developing supplier partnerships, market expansion through organic growth and acquisition, optimising operational excellence, and driving forward the region’s digitisation and sustainability goals. He will be based in Singapore, IMCD’s regional office for Asia. 

“I’m grateful to be given the opportunity to lead Asia to the next level,” said Igerl. “Having worked in the region, I enjoy the dynamics and diverse culture, and I hope to drive our strategic goals together with our dedicated Asia team.” 

Igerl  is German and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Applied Science for Economy and Management in Munich, Germany.

He joined IMCD in 2019 as the business unit manager of Advanced Materials in Germany, bringing more than 10 years of successful experience in the Speciality Engineered Plastics Materials Industry and in-depth commercial and leadership knowledge, including integrating acquisitions and assignments in Europe and Asia. In 2020, he relocated to China as the managing director of IMCD China, achieving more than double the revenue and EBITDA through organic growth and acquiring four companies within two years.
