Fuel shortage hits consumers in Nepali capital

Shortage of petroleum products has hit consumers once again in the Nepali capital of Kathmandu. Reports said Nepal Oil Corp. (NOC) was not releasing petrol to private dealers. NOC, on the other hand, blamed the problem to traffic jams along the Birgunj-Raxaul corridor, the main import route. Sources at NOC said that it had quickly run out of petrol stock at Thankot depot, the main distribution outlet for Kathmandu. (November 12, 2009)
