Dynamic Fuels to supply renewable jet fuel to KLM

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will begin commercial flights using renewable fuel produced by Dynamic Fuels in Geismar, La., U.S.A.  The commercial flights using the renewable fuel will consist of more than 200 flights between Amsterdam and Paris.  The flights will follow rigorous renewable jet fuel testing and certification work.  Dynamic Fuels is a joint venture between Syntroleum Corp. and Tyson Foods Inc. The company produces renewable fuels from non-food grade fats, oils and greases. “The production of ‘drop in’ renewable fuels which are a direct replacement for petroleum-based fuels is a major milestone in the commercial deployment of advanced technologies,” said Jeff Bigger, senior vice president of Business Development for Syntroleum. The plant uses Syntroleum’s Bio-Synfining (TM) Technology to produce the renewable fuels from feedstocks produced or procured by Tyson Foods. SkyNRG, a consortium made up of KLM, North Sea Group and Spring Associates will be responsible for delivering the renewable jet fuel to KLM. (June 23, 2011)
