Temporary service station set up by ExxonMobil

ExxonMobil Japan Group has set up a temporary fuel station in Rikuzentakata, where all service stations were destroyed by the March 11 tsunami. The temporary station was established with the support of Japanโ€™s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The station is designed around two ISO storage tanks which can hold up to 20,000 liters of gasoline. This interim solution was conceptualized and created within a month, according to Philippe Ducom, lead country manager of ExxonMobil Japan Group. He stated, โ€œWe hope this temporary station will enable people to get the gas they need and help the city’s recovery efforts.” The temporary station is being operated by local oil retailers on a commercial basis.
