Lubrizol opens new technology hub in Pune, India

The Lubrizol Corporation, a global leader in specialty chemicals based in Wickliffe, Ohio, U.S.A., has inaugurated its new Global Capability Center (GCC) in Pune, India. This strategic hub is set to accelerate Lubrizol’s growth in the region and foster closer collaboration with customers and employees. Located in the Embassy Tech Zone, Hinjewadi, the center is part of Lubrizol’s USD150 million investment announced in 2023 to bolster its operations in India.

The new 42,000-square-foot facility is designed to be a nexus for engineering, supply chain management, technology, finance, procurement, legal, and human resources functions. It features a modern and ergonomic workspace with wellness rooms, a recreational area, and a customer experience center that highlights Lubrizol’s innovative contributions to the chemical industry. The facility is WELL- and LEED Gold certified, underscoring Lubrizol’s commitment to environmental sustainability and employee well-being.

Lubrizol’s history in India dates back to 1966, with the company continuously expanding its footprint through innovative solutions that enhance mobility, well-being, and modern life. The opening of the GCC in Pune marks a significant milestone, as it will drive technological advancements and operational excellence, enabling Lubrizol to serve its customers globally and locally with even more innovative solutions.

Senior executives from Lubrizol expressed their enthusiasm for the new GCC. JT Jones, senior vice president of High Growth Regions, noted, “India is undeniably one of our fastest growing markets and a critical hub for the talent we require to propel both regional and global customer success and innovation.” Bhavana Bindra, managing director for India, Middle East, and Africa, added,  “The GCC is an integrated extension of our global team. It serves as a regional and global center providing business processing and digital capabilities that will help Lubrizol solve complex problems and find better business outcomes.”

With the GCC now operational, Lubrizol is set to add more than 200 regional employees to the Pune site over the next year, further strengthening its presence in India and its global network.
