Calumet Specialty Products appoints Langlais director of strategy and growth

Timothy (Tim) Langlais has joined Calumet Specialty Products Partners, L.P., as director, Strategy and Growth, effective 30 August 2019.

Calumet Specialty Products Partners, L.P., a master limited partnership based in Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S.A., is a leading independent producer of high-quality, specialty hydrocarbon products in North America. Calumet processes crude oil and other feedstocks into customized lubricating oils, solvents and waxes used in consumer, industrial and automotive products; produces fuel products including gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel; and provides oilfield services and products to customers throughout the United States.

The company employs approximately 1,600 people and operates 10 facilities across North America, including nine specialty products manufacturing and production facilities. Calumet products and services are available in approximately 52 countries across the world, serving approximately 4,400 customers globally.

Langlais will partner with the specialty business teams and leadership on competitive strategy; mergers and acquisitions (M&A); business plans/forecasts; and margin enhancement opportunities. He will report to Bruce A. Fleming, executive vice president, Strategy and Growth, and play a key leadership role as Calumet Specialty continues to shape its specialty products portfolio.

Langlais brings significant experience in sales and marketing, product management, business development, and strategy. In eight years at Phillips66, he held roles of increasing responsibility including sales and marketing, product management, supply chain, and business administration, and worked on the consolidation and rebranding of Phillips66’s industrial lubricants product line. He also spent six years with ERGON’s base oil marketing team as global technical marketing manager for Base Oils, and directed the global positioning and launch of ERGON’s HyGold 5000BS high viscosity base oil. Most recently he served as manager of the Worldwide Paraffinic Lube Refinery Performance Analysis (Lube Study) benchmarking program at Solomon Associates.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A., Langlais holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Rice University. He served on the National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI) Board of Directors from 2017-2018.
