Calumet Specialty Products announces appointment of Valentina Serra-Holm to executive team
Calumet Specialty Products Partners, L.P. announced the appointment of Dr. Valentina Serra-Holm to the position of vice president, Global Product Marketing, effective 6 May 2019. Serra-Holm brings more than two decades of industry and academic experience in the fields of lubricant base oil product research, technology and applications; manufacturing; and global market development and branding. Her appointment to Calumet’s executive team further demonstrates the company’s commitment to growing its specialties business, Calument said in a statement.
After academic doctoral research and teaching, Serra-Holm joined Nynas AB in Stockholm, Sweden. Nynas is a specialties-focused oil company that manufactures and sells bitumen and naphthenic products in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Serra-Holm was given increasing responsibility across a wide range of assignments involving products research, market development, strategic planning, and sales. Her most recent position with Nynas was as the director of Global Marketing and Technology.
A native of Italy and fluent in several languages, Serra-Holm holds MS and PhD degrees in chemical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin in Italy. In addition, she holds a PhD in Chemical Reaction Engineering from Ã…bo Akademi University in Finland. She is the president of the Union of the European Lubricants Industry (UEIL) and is the author of numerous technical publications, patents, and international presentations relating to base oils and other specialty products.
