Chevron Oronite announces new global OEM and industry liaison manager

Global additive supplier Chevron Oronite Company LLC announced the appointment of Richard van den Bulk as global OEM and industry liaison manager effective 1 September 2018.

Van den Bulk succeeds Gary Parsons, who elected to retire from Chevron Oronite on 31 July 2018, after 37 years of outstanding service at Chevron.

“Throughout his career, Parsons contributed significantly to the additives industry through both technical and business acumen, exhibiting strong leadership capabilities all along the way,” said Bruce Chinn, president, Chevron Oronite.

“Thanks to his efforts, Chevron Oronite’s global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) team is well recognized in the industry, at OEMs themselves, and within Chevron for their high level of professionalism and deep knowledge of the key drivers which impact our business today and into the future. Please join me in wishing him well in his retirement.”

During his career at Chevron, Parsons was involved in fuels research, consumer and commercial lubricants, product development, strategic account management, and business development. He held assignments in North America, Europe, and Asia.

“The selection of Richard van den Bulk as manager, Global OEM and Industry Liaison, will help ensure the continuation of our strong relationship with OEMs and maintain our important and enduring partnerships in the automotive engine oil industry,” said Teri Crosby, global product line manager, Automotive, Chevron Oronite.

Van den Bulk joined Chevron Oronite Technology B.V. in Rotterdam in 2005 as the Europe-Africa-Middle East (EAME) passenger car motor oil (PCMO) OEM liaison. In that role he built a strong network among European passenger car OEMs, enabling him to develop a detailed understanding of current and future lubricant requirements for PCMOs in Europe and around the globe. In 2017, van den Bulk became a market manager for EAME where he has been leading the qualification of Oronite’s first EAME 0W-20 market general product.

Van den Bulk received his bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering from HTS Autotechniek in the Netherlands.
