BMW to introduce hybrid cars in Malaysia

BMW Malaysia plans to introduce the German marque’s hybrid cars in the country within the next two years as part of its long-term strategy to promote sustainable mobility. BMW’s Active 7 and Active X6 hybrid cars were launched in Europe, while the BMW Vision “EfficientDynamics” sportscar hybrid prototype was recently launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The introduction of hybrid cars will mark the second phase of the carmaker’s long-term “EfficientDynamics” strategy in the country. Product Planning Manager Daren Ching said in the third phase, BMW would focus on hydrogen and electric energy sources to power its vehicles. (October 2, 2009)
