Dung Quat refinery to delay re-start

Vietnam’s first refinery, the 140,000 barrel-per-day Dung Quat plant, will delay resuming operations due to extended technical repairs, forcing the country to import more gasoline and diesel fuel while boosting Bach Ho crude exports. Some industry sources said the plant could remain shut at least until the end of October. This will mean Vietnam may be forced to offer spot cargoes of its flagship Bach Ho crude into the fourth quarter. (September 4, 2009)
