TotalEnergies and Air Liquide form hydrogen truck refueling joint venture

TotalEnergies and Air Liquide announced the launch of their joint venture TEAL Mobility to lead hydrogen distribution for European freight transport.

With equal ownership, TEAL Mobility aims to develop more than 100 hydrogen fueling stations on major European roads this decade. Starting with around 20 locations across five countries in 2024, it will accelerate adoption among truck manufacturers and logistics firms.

“TEAL Mobility provides a solution for transport players committed to cutting CO2,” said a joint statement. Hydrogen suits long-haul needs, enabling 15-minute refueling for 800km+ range without compromising payload.

The JV combines Air Liquide’s hydrogen supply chain expertise with TotalEnergies’ network operations and B2B energy distribution experience. TEAL Mobility will develop, operate and supply its own hydrogen stations for commercial customers.

The complementary strengths establish a platform to enable cleaner freight mobility in Europe. Decarbonisation requires collective infrastructure progress.
