Green Biologics partners with Chinese firms

British biotech company Green Biologics (GBL) has announced the completion of landmark agreements with China-UK Low Carbon Enterprise Co. Ltd., the joint venture company of the China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group and the U.K.โ€™s Carbon Trust, and two of Chinaโ€™s major biochemical firms, Guangxi Jinyuan Biochemical Co. Ltd. and Lianyungang Union of Chemicals Co. Ltd., to scale up and roll out its advanced biobutanol technology. Under the agreements, which are expected to be worth US$15 million over the next five years, Green Biologics will provide its fermentation technology to existing production facilities at Guangxi Jinyuan and Lianyungang Union to enable biobutanol production using lower cost sustainable feedstock.
