GHCL Launches “Rekoop” Featuring Applied DNA’s CertainT Platform for the First Line of Source-Verified Recycled Plastic Bedding Products

Rekoop Debuts at New York Home Fashions Week, March 19-22

STONY BROOK N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Applied
DNA Sciences, Inc.
(“Applied DNA,” “the Company,” NASDAQ:APDN) today
announced its CertainT®
platform, ensuring authenticity through the entire supply chain, is
featured in global manufacturer of home textiles GHCL,
Limited
’s (listed on NSE and BSE) new brand of bedding products made
from recycled plastic (rPET), Rekoop.
It is the first bedding line to feature 100 percent source verified
plastic and will debut at New York Home Fashions Week, March 19 to 22,
2018. The Rekoop bedding products will be manufactured for the US
market and are anticipated toward the end of 2018.

Rekoop employs Applied DNA’s CertainT platform to trace and
authenticate the plastic being utilized in the line of bed sheets,
pillowcases, and shams sold in-store or online in the United States. Reliance
Industries Ltd.
(RIL), India’s largest private company, the selected

platform provides customers and brands with the highest level of trust
in terms of the authenticity of their products.”

“Rekoop bedding highlights the interest brands have in offering
consumers a verifiable guarantee,” said Dr. James A. Hayward, president
and CEO of Applied DNA. “CertainT does what no other system can do – we
can tag every single fiber and verify them through a defined and secure
supply chain through systematic sampling, testing and tracking. Momentum
with retailers and manufacturers across a variety of textiles is growing
and we are pleased to see the CertainT platform and trademark now making
its way onto retail shelves this year,” he added.

Operating its home textiles facility in Vapi, in the state of Gujarat,
India, GHCL has integrated the new CertainT verified rPET fiber into its
production process, from spinning to weaving to finished processed
