Chevron kicks off lube blending plant expansion in Vietnam
Chevron Lubricants Viet Nam’s plant expansion project in Dinh Vu Industrial Zone, Hai Phong has started. The expansion’s target completion date is the fourth quarter of 2018, according to a Chevron spokesman based at the company headquarters in San Ramon, Calif., U.S.A.
Chevron’s Hai Phong lube blending plant became operational in 1999. The lube blending plant had an initial design capacity of 15 million litres per year. Asked about the size of the expansion, the Chevron spokesman said the company does not comment on plant capacity.
Nguyen Dat Phu, general director of Chevron Lubricants Viet Nam Co. Ltd., said that two of Vietnam’s leading companies in the field of design, supervision, and construction of petrochemical projects, Petrolimex Engineering Joint Stock Company (PEC) and Petrolimex Construction and Installation Company (PCC1), have been tapped as the two main contractors of the plant expansion project.
Vuong Thai Dung, deputy general director of Petrolimex and chairman of PEC, instructed PEC and PCC1 to prioritise safety during the project implementation, ensuring progress as well as quality.
