Fuchs’ Titan Cargo MAXX SAE 5W-30 meets Scania’s LDF-4 requirements
Following extensive testing, Fuchs Lubricants (UK) has added Titan Cargo MAXX SAE 5W-30 to its comprehensive automotive range, the first product to secure Scania LDF-4 approval. LDF stands for Long Drain Field test standard.
Scania Euro 6 vehicles are filled with LDF-4 at the factory. LDF-4 is approved for D13 and D9 from Euro 1 to Euro 6 as well gas engines, but restricted for V8s.
Scania LDF-4 uses the latest available high-performance engine oil technologies focusing on optimising performance on latest technology engines. LDF-4 has the same change interval and the same oil consumption as LDF-3 10W-40 but it reduces fuel consumption by an additional 0.5%.
It roughly doubles the change interval on the diesel particulate filter (DPF), a device designed to remove diesel particulate matter or soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine.
Titan Cargo MAXX SAE 5W-30 uses XTL-Technology® which delivers exceptional viscosity levels, fuel-saving potential of more than 4%, optimum wear protection and maximum protection of the exhaust gas after-treatment systems, the company said.
It also meets the requirements of modern Euro 6 engines and their exhaust gas after-treatment services.
“The requirements of Euro 6 engines mean that, over the last few years, OEMs have been looking for new specifications. We are delighted to have met the requirements of Scania and to have produced a product which has a maximum oil drain interval of 120,000 km,” said Rosemary Mellor, automotive product manager for Fuchs Lubricants (UK).
“The Scania LDF-4 approval means that the product can be used in virtually all Scania vehicles and will ensure that the vehicle’s warranty is not put at risk by using the incorrect oil.”
The Titan Cargo MAXX SAE 5W-30 is available in 5 litres, 20 litres, 205 litres, 1,000 litres or in bulk.
