Pertamina Lubricants (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (PLT), a subsidiary of Indonesia’s PT Pertamina Lubricants, has partnered with the Iyara Energy Group Co., Ltd. to distribute two-wheelers lubricants in Thailand.

This collaboration was marked by the signing of a distributorship cooperation contract between Pertamina Lubricants (Thailand) Co, Ltd. and Iyara Energy Group Co., Ltd. at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 5, 2021.

The signing was carried out by the Managing Director of PLT Darwin Harianja, who is also a director of INTCC (Indonesia Thailand Chamber of Commerce) and Chairman of Iyara Energy Group Co., Ltd. Sasithorn Nontleeraksa. This collaboration was also witnessed by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Thailand Rachmat Budiman.

Pertamina Lubricants has been present in Thailand for five years, when PLT was officially established as a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Lubricants. It has three distributors in Thailand that focus on different segments including the four-wheeler retail and industrial segments.

“Thailand is a country with an attractive and growing lubricant market. As a parent, we continue to encourage PLT to be more aggressive in the midst of intense competition,” said Andria Nusa, sales & marketing director, PT Pertamina Lubricants .

“With this local partnership, we are optimistic that it will continue to grow in the international market. We hope that Pertamina’s lubricant products can meet the needs of local consumers and Pertamina can continue to contribute to the economic growth of Indonesia and Thailand,” he said.

The growth of the two-wheeler lubricants market in Thailand continues to show a positive trend from year to year, and is the segment least affected by the pandemic due to the affordability of two wheelers. 

In early 2015, PLT has produced and distributed industrial lubricant products for various business sectors including agribusiness with superior lubricant products, namely Meditran SXT 15W-40 API CI-4 Plus, Turalik 52 ISO VG 68. Furthermore, in 2016, PLT officially made the first shipment of Turalik lubricant products to one of its partners in Thailand, namely TGI Import Export Co., Ltd. as well as producing other industrial lubricants to meet the needs of various business sectors in Thailand.

In addition, PLT has also officially produced and marketed lubricant variants for the four-wheeler automotive segment, such as the Fastron Series.
