Callandra to put up CNG stations

Callandra LCNG Fuels Corp., a leading participant in the Philippine Natural Gas Program for Public Transport or NGVPPT, disclosed plans to put up compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling stations in Manila by 2008. Callandra President and CEO Randall Antonio said the Callandra stations will be designed to initially cater to 2,500 CNG-wired buses. The numbers can be expanded to 5,000 in seven to 10 years. Callandra is looking at sourcing its gas from Malampayathe Shell Philippines Exploration B.V. offshore gas field. The company plans to spend anywhere between US$77 million to US$210 million on the project, which will be funded by foreign investors. (October 30, 2007)
