ConocoPhillips appoints Chiang senior VP

ConocoPhillips announced that Bill Berry, executive vice president, exploration & production, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, has elected to retire after 31 years of service. From September 1 until his retirement in January 2008, Berry will serve in a transition role. Willie Chiang, currently president, Americas supply and trading, commercial, will become senior vice president, commercial. Phil Frederickson, currently executive vice president, planning, strategy & corporate affairs, has elected to retire after 29 years of service. Steve Gates, senior vice president legal and general counsel, has elected to retire after 35 years of practicing law, 30 of those in the energy business, four of which have been with ConocoPhillips.
