India’s states want petroleum and liquor to be under GST

India’s Empowered Committee of States’ Finance Ministers presented their new stand regarding petroleum products and liquor, which they now want to be within the jurisdiction of the Goods and Service Tax (GST). The Empowered Committee’s Chairman and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi, presented the committee’s new views before the Standing Committee of Finance, which is currently discussing the Constitutional Amendment Bill for the GST.
