Lanxess to build rubber additives plant in Russia

Lanxess AG is set to build a rubber additives plant in the Nizhny Novgorod region in Russia. The plant, which will be operational by the first quarter of 2011, will turn out slab and granulated rubber. The capacity of the plant at the initial stage will be 360 tons of additives a year. By 2020, it is planned to boost output up to 2,100 tons of chemicals a year. The planned amount of investments is 90 million rubles (US$3.06 million). This will be the first plant to be built in Russia by the German company. (May 13, 2010)
