Pulzar displaces Pennzoil as market leader in Thailand

Thai Petroleum & Trading Co (TP&T), makers of the motor oil Pulzar, announced that in less than a year Pulzar has displaced Pennzoil as market leader in Thailand. TP&T Managing Director Sompob Tingthanathikul said that sales of Pulzar are now as high as the sales of Pennzoil in 2010. Pulzar was introduced to the market only last August after Pennzoil stopped marketing in Thailand to focus its efforts on North America. TP&T was Pennzoil’s licensed distributor in Thailand for 56 years and the business relationship ended in July last year. The company said Pulzar was developed by the company’s research and development team, in collaboration with a team of American specialists and now it wants Pulzar to be the most popular motor oil in Asia within the next three years. “The quality of Pulzar and a network of more than 1,300 distributors nationwide could help Pulzar secure the leading position,” Sompob said.
