PETRONAS appoints D’arrigo group managing director/CEO of lubricants business

Giuseppe D’arrigo has been appointed group managing director/CEO of PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) effective March 1, parent Petronas Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) announced.

D’arrigo joined PLI in 2013 and is currently its regional head for Europe. He succeeds Encik Amir Hamzah Azizan, whose tenure as group managing director/CEO expires at the end of February 2016.

D’arrigo has close to 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining PLI, he was general manager of GE Oil & Gas in Milan, Italy, for three years and also led the company’s downstream business sales team for Europe.

He began his career in the industry at Shell in Milan, where he served in a series of capacities in Operations and Strategic Marketing, Business Consultancy and Business Management in the downstream business across 20 countries. He left Shell in 2011 as the general manager of the company’s Italian retail business.
