Oil terminal at Langsat Port to be fully operational by September

Tanjung Langsat Port expects to re-start operations at its oil and petrochemical terminal in southern Malaysia’s Johor at 50% capacity in April, a source close to the matter said. Operations were initially expected to be re-started in the fourth quarter of 2009, after a fire in August 2008, but were delayed in part due to on-going discussions between the terminal operators and the insurance company over claims resulting from the fire which amounted to between MR20 million-MR30 million (US$6.02-9.02 million). The state-owned tank terminal is expected to be fully operational by September 2010. (March 12, 2010)
