SI Group names Frank Yang as VP & managing director for Asia Pacific

SI Group, a global specialty chemical company based in the United States, has announced the appointment of Frank Yang as vice president and managing director for the Asia Pacific region, effective January 1, 2024.

In his new role, Yang will lead SI Group’s management team in the Asia Pacific, focusing on optimising business operations and achieving significant results in the region. Bringing more than two decades of experience in managing global chemical businesses, Yang is well-equipped for this leadership position. His expertise spans across leading global chemical organisations, where he has demonstrated a knack for steering businesses through transformative phases. His most recent position was as vice president – Strategy at INEOS Aromatics. Before joining INEOS Aromatics, Yang held various leadership roles at bp Global Petrochemicals, bp, and PetroChina.

Joey Gullion, chief commercial officer at SI Group, expressed confidence in Yang’s abilities. “Given the dynamic nature of the Asia Pacific chemical market, we believe Frank’s track record of successful business growth and transformation will be invaluable to our organisation,” Gullion said. “With Frank at the helm in Asia Pacific, we anticipate delivering enhanced value to our customers and shareholders in the region.”

Yang shared his enthusiasm for joining SI Group, recognising the company’s strong brand presence and growth potential in the Asia Pacific. “I am excited to contribute to advancing the business, building upon SI Group’s solid foundation in safety and reliability,” Yang said.

Yang holds a master’s degree in business management from the University of Chicago and a degree in chemical engineering from East China University of Science and Technology.
